Director Blades

Brocade offers cost-effective, integrated blades for use in the Brocade DCX Backbone family and Brocade 48000 Directors. These special-purpose blades provide SAN fabric-based services, enable iSCSI (Ethernet) servers to access SAN-based storage, and provide encryption for data-at-rest.

Brocade FX8-24 Extension Blade

The Brocade FX8-24 Extension Blade for the Brocade DCX Backbone family provides enterprise-class Fibre Channel, FICON, and FCIP performance and availability for remote replication, backup, and migration. Twelve 8 Gbps Fibre Channel ports, ten 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports, and up to two optional 10 GbE ports provide maximum bandwidth, port density, and throughput, extending and optimizing fabric connectivity over distance for business continuity and disaster recovery.

Brocade FS8-18 Encryption Blade

The Brocade FS8-18 Encryption Blade is a 16-port 8 Gbps blade for the Brocade DCX Backbone family that provides up to 96 Gbps of disk encryption processing power and up to 48 Gbps of compression processing power for tapes, and is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated. A high-speed, highly reliable hardware device, the Brocade FS8-18 delivers fabric-based encryption services that allow organizations to secure their data to meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

Brocade FR4-18i Blade

Data center solution for the Brocade 48000 Director with 16 4 Gbps Fibre Channel ports and two 1 GbE ports provides reliable Fibre Channel, FICON, and FCIP bandwidth and throughput for multisite and point-to-point SAN extension

Brocade FCOE10-24 Blade

The Brocade FCOE10-24 Blade provides a cut-though non-blocking architecture designed for use in Brocade DCX Backbones. It features 24 10 Gbps DCB ports and extends DCB/FCoE capabilities to enable end-of-row DCB/FCoE deployment. In addition, it processes FCoE traffic at wire speed for transport to Fibre Channel and FCoE storage systems. By enabling LAN and SAN access over a single server connection, the Brocade FCOE10-24 simplifies network design, reducing capital and operating expenses.
